E-mail Support

How can I check my mail through a Web browser?

You can access your web mail using this address: http://mail.auroraesolutions.com. Use your username and password to log in.

What is my Incoming Mail (POP3) Server?

The Incoming Mail Server is mail.aurora-e-solutions.com

Can I have an e-mail account with my domain?

You can have several. The number of e-mail accounts you can have depends on your hosting package.

What is a catchall e-mail account?

A catchall e-mail account is excellent for collecting e-mail from any address at your domain. If a user were to mistype the e-mail address user@yourdomain.com as uesr@yourdomain.com the e-mail would be "caught" and directed to your default e-mail account.

Do you offer e-mail auto-responders and e-mail forwarding?

Yes. Auto-responders and e-mail forwarding is available through the web mail interface.

What should I do if I exceed my disk quota?

Eudora
If you store your messages on your hard drive or on a network server rather than on the mail server, you should normally not experience quota problems — as long as you check your mail daily. The following situations may cause potential over-quota problems:

  • You use Eudora/POP and have selected the option "Leave mail on server" for an indefinite period of time (in other words, you are keeping a copy of every message on the mail server)
  • You check your mail infrequently
  • You subscribe to several (or active) mailing lists and do not unsubscribe while you are on vacation

How to get back under your quota

  1. Delete messages from the mail server that you no longer need or that have large attachments. In Eudora, check the Server Status column for each message to determine if there is a copy of the message on the server. You will see an icon if there is a copy of the message on the server. Right-click on the "Server Status" icon for the message you want to delete and select Delete Message from the menu. You can also select a range of messages to delete, right-click in the Server Status column, and select Delete Message.
  2. Click on the Size column header to sort messages according to size. Check to see if you have a copy of the largest messages stored on the server (see Step 1 above) and delete those message(s) from the server.

How to avoid going over your quota in the future

  1. De-select the option to "Leave mail on server". Choose Tools | Options | Incoming Mail and uncheck "Leave mail on server". (Mac: choose Special | Settings | Checking Mail and uncheck "Leave on server for X days").
  2. If you choose to "Leave mail on server", also check Delete from server when emptied from Trash under Tools | Options | Incoming Mail (Mac: Special | Settings | Checking Mail) or check the option Delete from server after x days, and set "x" to 7 days or less.

Webmail

Unlike Eudora, Webmail stores all messages on the mail server. Not only is your INBOX stored on the server, but your sent-mail, Trash, and any other folders you have created are stored on the mail server as well.

How to get back under your quota

  1. Login to Webmail and delete messages you no longer need to keep or that have large attachments. The message size (in kb) is displayed in the "Size" column. Click on the "Size" header to sort messages according to size. If possible, delete the largest messages to recover the most space.
  2. Remove messages from your "sent" and "Trash" folders — in the upper left-hand corner of the Webmail screen, select one of the folders from the "INBOX" drop-down menu to display the contents of the folder. To delete several messages, click the check box to the right of the message(s) you want to delete, select "--DELETE--" from the Folders list pull-down and then click Move. Click "OK" when prompted to confirm.

How to avoid going over your quota in the future

  1. Delete messages that you have read and no longer need to keep.
Note: If you have a need to save most of your messages for historical purposes or academic reasons, you may want to consider Eudora or another e-mail client that allows you move messages off the mail server and store them on your hard drive.
  2. If you want to keep an attachment, but don't need to save the message, save the attachment on your hard drive and then delete the message.

What is SpamCop?

SpamCop is one of the many mechanisms that are used to reduce the flow of SPAM. SpamCop is a DNS based Black List (DNSBL) service. The IP address of each mail server that sends an e-mail is checked against SpamCop's list. If that IP address appears on the list, mail is automatically block. If someone indicates that they cannot send you an e-mail because it is being blocked by SpamCop, they need to contact the administrator of their mail server for resolution.
